On the wings of angels

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, the next edition of "On the Wings of Angels" took place in the Main Hall of the MsKC in Žiar nad Hronom. This year, K-system provided funds for the organization of this charitable event for mentally and physically disabled children from 28 institutions and facilities for people with disabilities from central Slovakia. The event was attended by a total of 704 people with disabilities along with their escorts, and as part of integration into society, 157 regular visitors. The event featured performances by:

• singer Kristína with her band,
• Modus Memory,
• PUĽS – the Poddukelský Folk Art Ensemble,
• singer Adam Ďurica,
• ZUMBA with Alou and children with mental disabilities,
• hosts Jožo Pročko and Dušan Cinkota.

Support for the project SPŠ Dopravná Zvolen - Show Your Talent

Sponsorships don’t always have to be limited to blinds, shades, or insect screens. In October, a student from the Secondary Vocational School of Transport in Zvolen reached out to us with a request for a sponsorship contribution in the form of office supplies. This school launched the unique program "Show Your Talent" to help develop the talents of students. The evaluation of the entire competition will take place in February 2019. Thanks to mentors, students are learning to understand themselves, find their dreams, and turn them into specific goals. It is a unique developmental program for young people that introduces elements of non-formal education into the school environment. The pilot year involved 15 students and 4 teachers.

Residents of Žiar received K-system blinds for free

In September 2017, K-system, spol. s r.o. supplied exterior sunshades and interior blinds for the new football stadium in Žiar nad Hronom. The order, worth over €3000, was another sponsorship donation for the citizens of Žiar nad Hronom. The director of the City Technical Services of Žiar nad Hronom, Mgr. Igor Rozemberg, personally thanked the company for the generous donation. K-system, spol. s r.o. is the only supplier of shading systems in Žiar nad Hronom and the surrounding area that was willing to contribute to the development of sports in the city.

K-system once again supported the children's corner

K-system, spol. s r.o., based in Žiar nad Hronom, has previously contributed sponsorship donations to the Žiar Municipal Cultural Center. Most recently, they donated an insect screen for the children's corner Hopa hopa.

The sliding insect screen, valued at €310, was installed on the door leading from the children's corner to the terrace. "These doors serve as the entrance from the back of the Municipal Cultural Center to the corner. They are also regularly used for ventilation. During the summer months, the issue was that wasps would fly inside. Thanks to the installed screen, we can now ventilate safely, even with the children present," says Zuzana Balážová from the MsKC. She adds that K-system, spol. s r.o. also donated vertical blinds for the children's corner. "Whenever we've needed support, they have also provided bubble wrap for children's competitions. They are our regular sponsor, and we are very grateful for and appreciate their support," Balážová concludes.

Krahul sheep

On February 12, 2017, the Ski Club Kremnica, in cooperation with the SkiKrahule ski resort, organized the club competition "Krahulská ovečka," which also served as the 3rd round of the REGIONAL SKI LEAGUE. K-system, spol. s r.o. contributed small gift items to the event. In the categories of superbaby, younger and older pre-kindergartners, younger and older schoolchildren, and juniors, approximately 118 brave competitors tested their skills.

Beautiful sunny weather, excellent snow conditions, and a great atmosphere contributed to the impressive results of our promising ski racers. Every competitor was awarded a "Krahul" gingerbread sheep. A big thank you goes to all the children, parents, sponsors, and of course, to everyone who came to watch and cheer on the participants.

Christmas competition

In 2016, K-system, spol. s r.o. held a CHRISTMAS COMPETITION for children's homes. This year, 10 children's homes from various parts of Slovakia participated. The competition was for these attractive prizes: K-system® products worth €1000, K-system® products worth €500, and K-system® products worth €250. The task for the children was to create Christmas greetings using materials sent to them, which included waste from the production of blinds and fabric roller blinds. In addition to the effective use of waste materials, we wanted to give the children the feeling of creating Christmas wishes for someone special. Apart from the sponsorship donations, we also purchased sweets for almost 1000 children and 3 plush toys from the Disney collection for the three creators of the selected greetings.

So, what are the results of the competition?

• 1st Prize – Products worth €1000 – Children's Home Valaská – for the original and certainly labor-intensive 3D greeting card by A. Harvanová, called "STROMČEK" (Tree).

• 2nd Prize – Products worth €500 – Children's Home Sereď – for a card with a beautiful motif, called "ANJELIK" (Angel).

• 3rd Prize – Products worth €250 – Children's Home Spišské Vlachy – for a beautiful card full of home warmth and comfort, called "SOBY" (Reindeer).

The products will be delivered to the children's homes based on their wishes in January 2017. The Christmas greetings will be sent to our business partners as a thank-you for their collaboration, which enables us to help those who need it most.

Rainbow Kindergarten

On April 14, 2016, we supplied a freestanding awning to the Dúhová škôlka (Rainbow Kindergarten) in Chorvátsky Grob. The sponsorship contribution from K-system, spol. s r.o. was €400. With this amount, the kindergarten was able to receive the awning at a reduced price. We believe that the children will be able to spend many beautiful moments under the awning, enjoying pleasant shade during their daily play.

Children's Home Nová Baňa

On April 5, 2016, the director of the Children's Home sent us their magazine titled Slnečnica in electronic form. At the end of the magazine, there is a thank-you note to the sponsors, including K-system, spol. s r.o., for supplying insect screens as a prize worth €250, along with sweets and a plush toy for the creator of the Christmas greeting that most impressed our jury. The Children's Home Nová Baňa was one of 18 children's homes that participated in our Christmas competition.

Christmas Sauerkraut Soup Cooking Competition

On December 18, 2015, the traditional Christmas Sauerkraut Soup Cooking Competition took place at SNP Square in Žiar nad Hronom. One of the seven competing teams was made up of employees from K-system, spol. s r.o., who also participate in various culinary competitions in their private lives. Our team placed a beautiful third. An important member of the jury was the most famous TV mother-in-law and singer in one person – Gizka Oňová. The proceeds from the sale of the sauerkraut soup were donated to the city of Žiar nad Hronom and used for charitable purposes.

Christmas competition

On November 24, 2015, K-system, spol. s r.o. announced a Christmas Competition for children's homes. The main idea was to allow children who do not have their own families to create Christmas greetings for someone, and for our part, to contribute to improving the equipment of the children's home through the requested products. Throughout the year, we registered many requests for such sponsorship gifts. The Christmas cards created by the children would then be sent by K-system, spol. s r.o. to its business partners. Each card will include the name of the children's home where it was made. A total of 18 children's homes from across Slovakia entered this competition. The competition focuses on creating Christmas cards using materials that are typically used to make blinds.

On December 18, 2015, the results will be announced, and the prizes will include truly attractive rewards: K-system® products worth €1000, €500, and €250, as well as a special reward for the creator of the most beautiful card, in the form of a plush toy. The products will be delivered to the children's homes in January 2016. We believe that this idea can motivate our business partners or other companies in the future to take similar actions, recognizing that it is important not only to focus on profit and numbers but also to have socially responsible behavior.

K-system sponsor of the charity event

K-system, spol. s r.o. was a sponsor of the third charity and educational event titled "Na krídlach anjelov," which took place on October 22, 2015, at the Cultural House in Žiar nad Hronom. The event was attended by 628 disabled individuals along with their companions, and as part of the integration into society, 162 regular visitors participated.

According to the main organizer of the event, Milan Štefánik from the NGO, the charity concert was a success. The event featured performances by the bands Gladiátor, Sendreiovci – Kokavakere Lavutára, Smola a Hrušky, singer Celeste Buckingham, Zumba instructor Daniela Česneková, and moderator Roman Juraško. Throughout the event, children and patients with mental disabilities had the opportunity to learn Latino and salsa dance on the prepared workshops, face painting, encaustic painting (painting with hot wax), basket weaving, traditional archery, candle making, and decorating wooden figurines.

Big masquerade ball in Žiar nad Hronom

On Sunday, February 23, 2014, a big masquerade ball took place at the Municipal Cultural Center in Žiar nad Hronom. We were surprised by the many uses of bubble wrap, which the organizer requested as part of the sponsorship. The result of this original idea was an afternoon full of children's bright eyes.

Children's corner in Žiar nad Hronom

In September 2013, K-system, spol. s r.o. contributed to improving the lighting conditions of the children's corner at the City Cultural Center in Žiar nad Hronom by supplying vertical blinds.

While parents shop or enjoy cultural events, trained staff supervise the children in the corner. We are happy to have supported family activities in Žiar nad Hronom and the cultural center with this great initiative.
