Description
LUXALEX panoramic hinged door insect screens from K-system can rightly be called next-generation screens due to a number of innovative functional and design elements. They are available in hinged or sliding versions. The hinged door screens, also known as ODS Luxalex, are designed for doors with an area of up to 4.5 m². The frame of the screen is so sturdy that it does not require a central reinforcement crossbar. A new feature is the recessed ergonomic handle, which allows for comfortable opening and closing of the door. For the first time in the history of insect screens, neodymium magnets are used in the production, which are reliable even at temperatures above 40°C, a feature that has proven particularly useful for dark-colored doors that heat up to high temperatures due to sunlight exposure in summer. The LUXALEX hinged door screen is also suitable for atypical (slanted) doors. For arched doors, the Universal door screen should be used.
Technical data
The Luxalex panoramic door screen is designed with attention to the smallest details, such as hidden hinges and the option to choose handles – the standard handle is milled into the frame. For an additional cost, you can opt for a protruding handle or Bypass. The so-called Bypass allows the screen to be released outward at the location of the protruding door handle, preventing the mesh from colliding with the handle and thus avoiding damage to the screen. It also allows the screen to be mounted directly on the frame without the need to replace the protruding handle or create an additional frame to offset the screen leaf from the door. The Bypass is available with handle heights of 25, 40, 60, or 80 mm. The standard includes an internal handle in the frame color. The screen frame is made from a dimensionally stable extruded aluminum profile measuring 43 x 13 mm, and is standardly equipped with 7 mm brush sealing, which helps improve the mesh’s fit to the door frame and reduces noise when closing the screen. A completely new feature in insect screens is the telescopic profile with adjustable brush sealing extension for doors without a transition profile. The screen corners are standardly connected with internal aluminum corner pieces, which ensure high dimensional stability of the frame. The frame is cut at a 45° angle.
The innovative method of securing the mesh to the frame ensures greater strength due to the new shape of the black polypropylene tension seal. The UV-stable treatment of the mesh ensures color stability and an attractive appearance. The mesh is flame-resistant and weather-resistant. The mesh size, transparency, light and heat permeability depend on the type of mesh used.
The BetterVue® mesh is supplied as standard in black.
The UltraVue2® mesh is a unique black mesh that significantly outperforms the Transparent and BetterVue meshes in terms of its properties. The UltraVue2 mesh is designed for better durability, increased airflow, and easy maintenance. The durable, hydrophobic coating never washes off, allowing for an uninterrupted clear view even during rain. The UltraVue2 mesh improves light transmission in windows with low-E glass.
Both BetterVue® and UltraVue2® meshes are made using the patented Water Shed Technology™ to maintain an optically clear view and extend the lifespan of the mesh. Thanks to the special surface treatment, water and dirt do not remain in the mesh holes. This provides a brilliant view, increased airflow compared to standard mesh, and more natural light. Greenguard certification - this type of mesh is tested for over 10,000 chemicals and VOC emissions. It meets strict low-emission standards to maintain indoor air quality.
The Tuffscreen® Heavy-Duty Mesh Screen replaces the previously used Petscreen and is designed for those who need a stronger and more durable insect screen. The Tuffscreen® mesh is made from polyester fiber coated with a vinyl layer, making it the most durable mesh on the market. It is three times stronger than standard fiberglass mesh and does not need to be replaced as often. The manufacturer is so confident in its strength and resistance that they offer a 10-year warranty on the mesh! The mesh not only withstands pet claws but also provides significantly better visibility. Greenguard certification – this type of mesh is tested for over 10,000 chemicals and VOC emissions. It meets strict low-emission standards to maintain indoor air quality.
A bottom kick plate can be added to the screen to protect it from mechanical damage. Safe door closure is ensured by built-in neodymium magnets. The concealed hinges match the frame color and do not require additional space for installation. The ideal door frame width for installation is 48 mm. If your frame is narrower and you don’t want the screen frame to intrude into the door opening, we recommend using DSU door screens with a slimmer profile or DSU door screens with an auxiliary mounting frame.

Maintenance
Opening and closing the Luxalex panoramic hinged door screens by K-system is easy and comfortable thanks to the ergonomic handle. We do not recommend opening the screen by kicking it, even in the case of a screen with a kick plate. Doing so may result in the mesh tearing.
Luxalex screens require lubrication with lithium-based grease at least once, ideally twice a year. The mesh is sensitive to mechanical damage and sharp objects, so handle the screen with care. For cleaning, simply vacuum the mesh, wipe it with a damp cloth, or rinse it with water. To maintain a panoramic view and ensure proper airflow, we recommend cleaning the mesh regularly. Trapped dirt can attract small birds, which may damage the mesh. The frame can be cleaned using a cloth moistened with water and mild detergent. Do not use aggressive chemical agents. It is not strictly necessary to dismantle the screen for winter, but for practical reasons, you may disassemble it and store it upright without any load.

General Warranty Terms
The company K-system supplies custom-made panoramic door screens Luxalex. The screens will be measured and professionally installed by our trained installation technicians. Your inquiry will be forwarded to the nearest installation company in your area.
- The warranty covers manufacturing defects and material defects that prevent the product from functioning properly.
- The manufacturer assumes no responsibility for consequential damages or liability for the product beyond Slovak law.
- If a defect is visible upon unpacking the product, do not install it or have it installed, and promptly file a complaint with your supplier.
- The warranty does not cover the loss of original color in invisible areas, discoloration, or fading caused by sunlight, condensation, acid rain, salt droplets, or any conditions resulting in corrosion or material change, as well as natural color variations in fabric, aluminum, and wood decor. It also does not cover minor imperfections that do not significantly affect the appearance.
- The warranty does not cover any imperfections from the customer's perspective that are caused by adherence to the manufacturing process and applicable standards. For custom products, certain limitations during handling must be expected, and these limitations cannot be the subject of a complaint.
- The manufacturer's warranty also does not cover defects or damages that are a direct or indirect result of:
a) Incorrect installation (the warranty is covered by the installation company)
b) Improper use and failure to follow the operating and maintenance instructions
c) Use of inappropriate spare parts, accessories, or power sources (e.g., electrical power supply)
d) Transport or any other form of handling
e) Interference with the mechanism or modification of the product
f) Natural disasters, inadequate ventilation, and high humidity.
